Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. This therapy is designed to enhance the body’s natural healing processes by increasing oxygen concentration in the blood, which can accelerate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and support overall health. During HBOT, the patient is placed in a specially designed chamber where the atmospheric pressure is increased to approximately 1.5 to 3 times normal air pressure. This pressurized environment allows the lungs to take in significantly more oxygen than would be possible under normal conditions.
